Job summary

Essig Plumbing & Heating is hiring a Residential Electrical Technician in Reading, PA. The role involves diagnosing, servicing, and installing residential electrical systems with a focus on safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship.

You will install panel upgrades, lighting, EV chargers, generators, and more, while troubleshooting and maintaining excellent customer relations. A valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician License preferred, or equivalent hands-on electrical experience.
• Knowledge of residential electrical systems, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, instructions, and rough drawings.
• Ability to independently complete projects and service calls.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic mathematical skills, including measurement conversions.
• Working knowledge of wiring and cable, circuit breakers, PVC/MC conduit, generators, and related electrical components.
• Valid driver's license with no major infractions within the past five years.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean, organized job site and properly stocked service vehicle.
• Working independently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and workmanship.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing
