Due to rapid growth, we are excited to announce an opening for a 2nd Shift Electrical Technician at our Elgin plant. The hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with opportunities for overtime during the week and some weekends.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Technician will troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic PLC-based control systems on CNC turning, drilling, and grinding machines, as well as other automated high-speed equipment. Key responsibilities include monitoring and modifying PLC programs, planning and wiring electrical control panels, and installing on industrial machinery.

What You'll Do:

• Troubleshoot and repair automated production machinery by identifying root causes of electrical issues.
• Diagnose and replace electrical and electronic components, wiring, relays, switches, motors, sensors, PCBs, PLCs, and servo inverters.
• Connect and route power and control wiring between machines to ensure equipment operates smoothly.
• Plan and install wiring layouts, conduits, and electrical apparatus inside buildings.
• Maintain interior and exterior lighting systems.
• Collaborate closely with mechanics and leads to diagnose and resolve equipment faults.
• Design and build PLC control systems, including panel layouts, wiring, and testing.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams with precision and accuracy.

What We're Looking For:

• Associate degree or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years in planning, wiring, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic systems in an industrial automation and manufacturing setting.
• Experience in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and electronic systems
• At least 2 years of working with PLC-based control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Follows all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and their colleagues, fostering a culture of workplace safety and compliance.
• Strong communication skills to interpret various instructions and collaborate with team members effectively.
