Job summary

New Flyer seeks an Electrical Technician to program, troubleshoot, install and repair vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems in our manufacturing environment. Second shift (Mon-Thu 3:00 pm–1:30 am) with potential overtime on Fridays.

You will work on Hybrid Drive systems, read schematics, and maintain safety and quality standards while collaborating with a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• High voltage experience is a plus.
• PLC, ladder logic, AC and DC system experience.
• Experience reading engineering documents and wiring schematics.
• Commitment to safety standards and procedures.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Team member who builds collaborative relationships with honesty and integrity.
• Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
• Flexibility to work 1st or 2nd shift.
• Associate degree in automotive/electronics or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair Hybrid Drive systems and electrical components.
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems using theory, PLC and ladder logic.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs and processes.
• Maintain safe and clean work practices per safety policies.
• Inspect and communicate issues in the quality checkout.
• Document work with software tools including Office and diagnostic apps.
• Install and repair electrical control components (resistors, diodes, relays).
• Expand knowledge of high voltage systems (200+ volts).

Job description

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing programing, troubleshooting, installation and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This position requires you to use your excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to quality and safety, and positive teamwork attitude to drive your career. Seeking candidates for our second shift, work schedule is Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. There may be overtime opportunities available on Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Install and repair various Hybrid Drive systems, communication networks, and electrical components
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using advanced electrical theory, PLC and ladder logic
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for appropriate repairs and process
• Maintain clean and safe work practices with electricalsystems by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and processes
• Inspect and communicate issues that arise in the required quality checkout
• Document work and resultswith support of various software programs including, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, and diagnostic applications
• Install and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays)
• Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including how to perform work around high voltage systems (200+ volts)

• Competitive Wages -$26.49-1st pay increase at 5 months
• $1.10/hour shift differential for 2nd shift
