Job summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a full-time instructor to join our Electrical Systems Technology program. The role involves teaching AC/DC theory, wiring, and industrial motor controls while guiding students toward technical careers.

The ideal candidate holds an AAS or higher in Electrical Systems Technology with at least five years of field experience as an electrician; a North Carolina license is highly desired. The position reports to the Lead ELC Instructor and the Program Chair.

Qualifications

Minimum 14 SHC in ELC from an accredited college or university
Five (5) years of documented field experience as an electrician
North Carolina electrical contractor license is highly desired or reciprocating license if from another state

Responsibilities

Prepare, manage, and deliver course content to meet objectives and learning outcomes
Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in a respectful and effective manner
Update syllabus content in accordance with directions and guidance
Collaborate with support services to address students’ academic needs
Utilize college technology for instruction and completion of processes (LMS, email, calendars, SIS)
Maintain accurate class records and related employee records
Ensure laboratories are stocked with required supplies and equipment are in safe order
Support student mentoring, advising, registration and recruitment efforts
Participate in professional development and college meetings as required
Foster a positive, student-centered environment among students, faculty and staff
