Job summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking part-time Electrical Systems Technology instructors to provide direct instruction in classroom, lab, clinical, or distance education settings on a semester contract basis.

The part-time faculty teaching load is 1-15 contact hours per week for each term (fall, spring, summer). Loads above 15 hours require rare approvals; adjunct instructors are not guaranteed employment beyond contract terms.

Qualifications

• AAS degree or higher in Electrical Systems Technology or related field.
• 2 years field experience in related subject matter.

Responsibilities

• 1. Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content to achieve course objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.
• 2. Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
• 3. Communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
• 4. Work collaboratively with the College’s support services to identify and address the students’ academic support needs.
• 5. Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes; this includes LMS, email, calendaring, document management, SIS, and employee portals.
• 6. Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records and employee records/requests.
• 7. When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked and equipment is in safe operating order.
• 8. Foster a positive, student-centered, professional environment among students, faculty, and staff.

Education

AAS degree or higher in Electrical Systems Technology or related AAS degree or higher (AHR, ELN, or ELC Engineering)
