Job summary

The Museum of Science in Boston seeks an experienced Electrical Systems Technician II to maintain and optimize critical electrical infrastructure across its 750,000 square feet campus. You will diagnose complex issues, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, reliable operations for staff and visitors.

You will lead advanced troubleshooting, monitor life-safety systems, and provide technical leadership across Facilities trades while upholding safety,

Qualifications

  • Education: post-secondary electrician training or equivalent technical education.
  • Experience: minimum 5 years of progressively responsible electrical experience in complex facilities.
  • Must read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial/institutional electrical distribution systems up to 480V.
  • Diagnose complex electrical problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and monitor critical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with contractors and oversee electrical work on site.
  • Provide technical guidance to Facilities staff and mentor other technicians.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies and support incident recovery.
