Rivian in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Sustaining Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability of HV Battery, Drive Unit, and Electrical systems throughout their lifecycle. You will collaborate with design, validation, and manufacturing to define testing, perform RCFA, and drive corrective actions.

Competenze

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline; 1+ years in reliability preferred
• Strong technical background with a passion for reliability engineering
• Proficiency in ongoing reliability testing, HASS, and equations for failure mechanisms
• Experience using DFMEAs and PFMEAs for continuous product reliability
• Solid understanding of physics of failure for mechanical/structural components; fracture mechanics and materials science
• Proven root cause analysis skills and test program development
• Working knowledge of Python and statistical reliability software (JMP/ReliaSoft)
• Desire to contribute to a respectful, inclusive team culture

• Define and oversee reliability testing requirements for components, subsystems, and assemblies
• Analyze DFMEAs/PFMEAs to derive ongoing reliability testing plans for serial production
• Collaborate to engineer accelerated test requirements ensuring product quality and reliability
• Develop reliability validation plans for critical components using physics-of-failure methods
• Determine sample sizes and test durations for reliability validation programs
• Lead RCFA for testing-related failures and implement corrective actions
• Manage partnerships with internal/external testing facilities for ongoing programs
• Conduct ongoing risk assessments and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Collaborate with Field Reliability and Failure Analysis teams to feed lessons learned into design
