Job summary

GM Defense is seeking an Electrical System Engineer to define and integrate electrical systems for government programs and special projects at the Milford Proving Grounds. You will translate requirements into vehicle-level electrical architectures, including high-voltage systems, wiring, and interfaces across ECU networks.

The role involves collaborating with multiple domain engineers, developing schematics, reviewing netlists, and supporting proposals.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in electrical systems, vehicle electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience with high-voltage/electrified vehicle systems and power distribution.
• Ability to translate requirements into electrical system definitions and interfaces.
• Experience with CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, or Ethernet networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture definition for new/derivative defense platforms.
• Define vehicle-level electrical topologies, power distribution, and interface definitions.
• Develop schematics, wiring concepts, interface control documents, and netlists.
• Evaluate COTS and custom technologies balancing performance, risk, cost and schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support proposals and customer presentations.
