Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, Minnesota is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our experienced team. You will gain real-world experience under the supervision of an electrical engineer, with hands-on work on motors, controllers, batteries, switches, and sensors across Toro products.

You will write specifications, perform tests, validate electrical components and software, and help improve existing designs. A ABET-accredited EE program and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Majoring in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Entering Junior or Senior year strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork; desire to learn.
• Organized and proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); additional engineering software preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and knowledge of basic electrical components.
• Experience interfacing with CANbus communication protocols preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical components and create basic integration tests in a lab environment.
• Create and modify prototype electrical harnesses.
• Work with CANbus data to diagnose issues or evaluate machine performance.
• Read and interpret machine electrical schematics to assist in troubleshooting or evaluation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to diagnose issues or evaluate designs.
• Work with component vendors to evaluate application fit and verify specifications.
