Albin Engineering Services, Inc. (www.aesi.com) is looking for an Electrical Systems Design Engineer for one of our premier clients. This is a direct-hire position that will be reporting 100% onsite in San Jose, CA. As their employee, you qualify for their full benefit package.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with senior engineers throughout the design and construction phases.
2. Develop electrical system designs using Revit.
3. Perform engineering evaluations to assess design alternatives and make recommendations.
4. Assist in the planning and execution of electrical system designs for commercial, educational, healthcare, office, and industrial projects.
5. Conduct engineering calculations to support electrical system planning.
6. Design and circuit lighting, receptacles, HVAC, and various electrical equipment.
7. Gain experience in lighting fixture placement and control systems.
8. Learn and apply basic fire alarm schematic design principles.
9. Conduct site visits to oversee installation and testing processes.
10. Assist in the development of proposals, cost assessments, and equipment schedules.
11. Identify and implement creative solutions to design challenges.
12. Coordinate project scope, specifications, and deadlines with project managers and senior engineers.
13. Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and respond to RFIs in a timely manner.
14. Perform site assessments, feasibility studies, and create basis of design reports.
15. Oversee tasks to ensure completion within set deadlines and budget constraints.
16. Participate in project meetings, contributing to design and construction discussions.
17. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and maintain clear communication.
18. Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
19. Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, energy regulations, and LEED standards.
20. Utilize a BIM environment for effective system integration and design execution.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
3. Two to four years of experience in electrical design or a related discipline.
4. In-depth understanding of codes, standards, and engineering/construction methodologies.
5. Familiarity with state and local building codes, including NEC regulations.
6. Proficiency in Revit and Autodesk BIM 360.
7. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct design inconsistencies.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and other engineering analysis software.
9. LEED Accreditation is highly desired.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment while meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

1. May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
2. Able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
3. Able to bend at the knees and waist frequently.
4. Able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
