General Motors Company is seeking a Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to ensure robust launch execution and ongoing quality for supplier parts. You will lead APQP, execute PPAP and Run@Rate, and drive systemic problem solving with suppliers to deliver flawless components to GM plants.

The role requires travel (40-50%) domestically and teamwork across Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and the supplier base to meet quality targets and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required.
• 2 years of supplier quality/engineering experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Run@Rate, PFMEA, MSA and SPC.
• Ability to read prints and GD&T, and use dimensional data for decision making.

Aufgaben

• Lead APQP with suppliers to meet program timing and quality targets.
• Review and approve supplier quality deliverables per GM standards.
• Approve PPAP and Run@Rate submissions ensuring process capability.
• Monitor supplier performance using quality metrics and drive improvements.
• Lead structured problem solving (7 Diamonds, 8D/SPPS) for supplier issues.
• Conduct on-site supplier assessments to verify process capability and IATF 16949 compliance.
• Collaborate with Design Release, Manufacturing, and Purchasing on launch readiness.
• Share lessons learned to prevent recurrence of systemic issues.
