Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance activities for electricians, instrument technicians and contractors. This role leads the Electrical Department and collaborates with Engineering on capital projects, ensuring maintenance considerations are included and safety procedures are followed.

You will supervise staff, manage parts and supplies, and contribute to cost estimates and budgets.

Qualifications

• BSEE/BSEET degree preferred; minimum of three (3) years training in electrical field beyond high school.
• Four (4) years minimum experience in electrical power distribution, distributed control systems, PLCs and drives; paper industry experience preferred.
• Possess written & verbal communication skills & engineering knowledge; possess leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Training: OSHA Industrial Safety Training; PLC, VFD, Industrial Controls.
• Must be committed to safe work procedures; available to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade existing electrical systems and improve process reliability through electrical improvements.
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure capital projects are installed with Maintenance concerns included.
• Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Electrical Department.
• Issue direct and storeroom requisitions for repair parts and supplies for Electrical Maintenance work.
• Direct the administration of company policy & programs pertaining to performance, training, safety & morale of all personnel under supervision.
• Cooperate in establishing and continuing a safety program to educate workers and know safety hazards.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for work orders & capital budgets.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for machinery, equipment and buildings.
• Coordinate activities with outside contractors.

General Summary

Plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance activities for electricians, instrument technicians and contractors. Available for consultations and assistance with maintenance or staffing issues throughout the mill.

Prerequisites

Education: BSEE/BSEET Preferred. Minimum of three (3) years training in electrical field beyond high school.

Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to...

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary range for position: $96,000 to $144,000 annually


• Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
