Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) seeks an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance for electricians and technicians at our Ohio mill. You will coordinate with Engineering, supervise staff, and maintain records to ensure reliable operations.

Requirements include a BSEE/BSEET, at least four years in electrical power distribution, PLCs/Drives, and proven leadership and communication skills; weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: BSEE/BSEET preferred; minimum three years training beyond high school.
• Work experience: four years minimum in electrical power distribution, distributed control systems, PLCs and drives; paper industry experience preferred.
• Skills: written & verbal communication; engineering knowledge; industrial electrical/mechanical skills; leadership and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance for electricians, instrument technicians and contractors.
• Coordinate with Engineering on capital projects and maintenance concerns.
• Supervise Electrical Department personnel and manage requisitions for repair parts and supplies.
• Maintain maintenance records for machinery, equipment and buildings; assist with cost estimates and budgets.

General Summary

Plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance activities for electricians, instrument technicians and contractors. Available for consultations and assistance with maintenance or staffing issues throughout the mill.

Prerequisites

Education: BSEE/BSEET Preferred. Minimum of three (3) years training in electrical field beyond high school.

Work Experience: Four (4) years minimum of work experience in electrical power distribution, distributed control systems, PLC's and drives, prefer paper industry experience.

Skills: Possess written & verbal communication skills & engineering knowledge. Possess industrial electrical/mechanical skills. Possess leadership skills and interpersonal skills.

Training: Knowledge of electrical operations. PLC, VFD, Industrial Controls. OSHA Industrial Safety Training.

Other: Must be committed to safe work procedures and activities. Available to work extended hours and weekends.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to...

• Upgrade existing electrical systems and improve process reliability by electrical improvements.
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure capital projects are installed with Maintenance concerns included.
• Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Electrical Department.
• Issue direct and storeroom requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to perform Electrical Maintenance work.
• Direct the administration of company policy & programs pertaining to the performance, training, safety & morale of all personnel under his supervision.
• Cooperate in the establishment & continuance of a safety program to educate the workers in safe work methods & have a comprehensive knowledge of possible safety hazards in the mill.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for work orders & capital jobs & in preparation of the annual departmental operating & capital budgets.
• Maintain accurate & up-to-date maintenance records & information on all machinery, equipment & buildings.
• Coordinate activities with outside contractors working.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary range for position: $96,000 to $144,000 annually
• Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
