Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to lead field operations on utility-scale solar and wind projects across the Great Lakes region. This role reports to our Southfield, MI and Grandville, MI teams and requires travel to project sites, with full-time onsite work.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical construction experience and a proven track record supervising crews. You will manage planning, safety, QA/QC, and coordination with engineering and subcontractors to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent field experience.
• 4+ years electrical construction with field supervision.
• Experience with utility-scale renewables (solar/wind) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution and construction practices.
• Ability to lead crews and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams onsite.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, drawings, and turnover procedures.
• Excellent communication and leadership in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, BIM360, and Bluebeam.
• Must be willing to travel and work onsite full-time.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all electrical construction activities on assigned renewable energy projects.
• Enforce jobsite safety for electrical personnel and subcontractors.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electrical crews and subcontractors.
• Ensure all installations meet project quality standards and codes.
• Lead field-level planning including short-term scheduling and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and subcontractors to resolve field issues.
• Review submittals, drawings, and installation plans for constructability.
• Monitor electrical scope productivity, costs, and material usage with project leadership.
• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure timely availability onsite.
• Support QA/QC processes, inspections, and turnover documentation.
• Participate in BIM coordination and resolve clashes across trades.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders.
• Mentor field personnel and contribute to a positive team culture.
• Support company initiatives and maintain safety and quality standards.
