Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks an Electrical Superintendent for a mission-critical data center project in Odessa, TX. You will lead the electrical group on site, coordinate activities across trades, and ensure that safety, quality, and schedule requirements are met at all times.

You’ll manage daily progress, coach staff, and communicate with customers and management to resolve scheduling issues. Travel to Western TX may be required; a Journeyman/Master license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience supervising heavy industrial electrical projects.
• Current Journeyman or Master Electrical License preferred.
• Data Center experience required.
• Open to travel and possible rotating schedule.
• Renewable experience a plus.
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Possess valid drivers’ license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of the Electrical group on a data center construction site.
• Maintain accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
• Anticipate conflicts in timing between crafts and resolve scheduling priorities.
• Monitor daily progress, coach subordinates, and conduct performance appraisals.
• Write reports and administer policies; provide management with updates as needed.
• Travel to field locations; adapt to rotating schedules as required.

Provides management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment and ensuring that specifications are being followed.**Responsibilities/Competencies*** Responsibilities include overall accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.* Requires the ability to look ahead to avoid conflicts in timing between crafts. Knowing the interactions of the tasks and how they affect each other is a skill required by the superintendent because of the conflicts that arise.* Must be able to deal effectively with employees and various levels of customer representatives in order to resolve scheduling problems, determine work priorities, and assess the relative magnitude of project requirements as they impact project scheduling.* Expected results from each subordinate are defined and monitored to ensure achievement relative to work output, quality of work, accidents (both to employees and to equipment) and training.* Spends a large portion of time monitoring daily work progress, and evaluating and counseling subordinates, requiring managerial / motivational skills.* Requires a general working knowledge of construction terminology and methodology without necessarily knowing the specific details of the work required from all crafts indirectly supervised. Relies upon General Foreman and/or Foreman responsible for specific craft disciplines. Writing reports and administering policies are very much a part of the daily workload.* Typical problem situations involve keeping current procedures, policies and methods in use each day.* Significant challenge involves responding to the time pressure exerted in an emergency situation.* Responsible for conducting performance appraisals and recommending wage adjustments.* Has the authority to discipline including termination when warranted.
