Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks an experienced on-site Electrical Superintendent to lead the Electrical group at a data-center construction site in West Texas. You will direct field operations, coordinate workers, materials, and equipment, and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.

The role requires 7–10 years of heavy industrial electrical supervision, a Journeyman or Master license preferred, data center experience, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience supervising Heavy Industrial Electrical projects.
• Current Journeyman or Master Electrical License preferred.
• Data Center experience required.
• Open to travel and possible rotating schedule.
• Renewable experience a plus.
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Possess valid drivers' license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Overall accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
• Ability to anticipate conflicts in timing between crafts to avoid scheduling issues.
• Resolve scheduling problems with employees and customer representatives and set work priorities.
• Define and monitor subordinate expectations to ensure productivity, quality of work, and safety.
• Monitor daily progress and coach subordinates, exercising managerial/motivational skills.
• Maintain working knowledge of construction terminology and methods across crafts supervised indirectly.
• Keep procedures and methods current and applicable in daily work.
• Respond to time pressure in emergency situations.
• Conduct performance appraisals and recommend wage adjustments.
• Discipline up to termination in coordination with Management.
• Work in operating facilities and follow safety policies.

General Information/Job Summary

Serves as the lead representative for the company at a data center construction site, directing and coordinating the activities of the Electrical group. Provides management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment and ensuring that specifications are being followed.

Responsibilities/Competencies

• Responsibilities include overall accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
• Requires the ability to look ahead to avoid conflicts in timing between crafts. Knowing the interactions of the tasks and how they affect each other is a skill required by the superintendent because of the conflicts that arise.
• Must be able to deal effectively with employees and various levels of customer representatives in order to resolve scheduling problems, determine work priorities, and assess the relative magnitude of project requirements as they impact project scheduling.
• Expected results from each subordinate are defined and monitored to ensure achievement relative to work output, quality of work, accidents (both to employees and to equipment) and training.
• Spends a large portion of time monitoring daily work progress, and evaluating and counseling subordinates, requiring managerial / motivational skills.
• Requires a general working knowledge of construction terminology and methodology without necessarily knowing the specific details of the work required from all crafts indirectly supervised. Relies upon General Foreman and/or Foreman responsible for specific craft disciplines. Writing reports and administering policies are very much a part of the daily workload.
• Typical problem situations involve keeping current procedures, policies and methods in use each day.
• Significant challenge involves responding to the time pressure exerted in an emergency situation.
• Responsible for conducting performance appraisals and recommending wage adjustments.
• Has the authority to discipline including termination when warranted. Discipline and terminations are discussed with Management prior to taking action.
• Requires working in operating facilities and observing and abiding by additional safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience supervising Heavy Industrial Electrical projects involving a variety of layout, installation, and construction and maintenance tasks
• Current Journeyman or Master Electrical License preferred
• Data Center experience required
• Open to travel and possible rotating schedule
• Renewable experience a plus
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Possess valid drivers' license with a good driving record

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
