Cianbro is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to lead electrical projects in a heavy civil environment, ensuring work aligns with design, budget, and schedule while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity on site.

You will coordinate craft personnel, subcontractors, materials, and equipment, collaborating with project teams to resolve challenges and drive successful outcomes through planning and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • Eight years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in a heavy civil electrical environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction aspects, craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, cost control, schedules and safety.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions, including safety, scheduling, engineering, material control and direction of staff and engineers.
  • Supervise craft employees and/or contractors as required by the contract.
  • Authorize and/or approve personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance, recommending construction methods and equipment as required.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures and safety program requirements; document violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives and other contractors as required.
  • Work with project supervision daily to communicate production goals and quality specifications, discuss issues, and propose improvements.

Job description

Supervise the total construction effort of electrical projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Provide overall field leadership for project safety, quality, productivity, and resource management while coordinating craft personnel, subcontractors, materials, and equipment. Work closely with project teams, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve challenges, drive project performance, and deliver successful project outcomes through effective planning, communication, and technical expertise. The wage range for this position is one thousand seven hundred to two thousand nine hundred dollars per week. Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibilites
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions. This includes project safety, scheduling, engineering, material control and may provide day to day direction of onsite administration staff and engineers.
  • Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
  • May authorize and/or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance, recommending construction methods and equipment as required.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives and other contractors, etc. as required.
  • Work together with project supervision on a daily basis to communicate production goals and quality specifications of work, discuss issues that have surfaced (around people, means and methods, material or equipment use, etc. extra or out of scope work), and ideas to help team achieve project goals.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of eight years construction management and/or craft supervision experience in a heavy civil electrical environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel on a short-term basis.
