Summary

This position provides support to the US Air Force 386th Air Expeditionary Wing in the USAF Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP), at Ali Al Salem Airbase near Kuwait City, Kuwait, in the Persian Gulf Region. The 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, based at Ali Al Salem, serves as a key airlift hub supporting combat and coalition forces within the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility (AOR). Ali Al Salem and 'Cargo City' are among the busiest aerial ports in CENTCOM, supporting ongoing operations with cargo and personnel. This is a full-time, onsite position in Kuwait.

Position Overview

A Journeyman Electrician must be formally trained, skilled, and have at least five years’ verifiable experience as a Journeyman Electrician, holding a US Journeyman Electrician’s license. The role requires minimal supervision. Prior experience supporting US Expeditionary Air Bases or similar contingency environments is preferred.

• US Citizenship and US Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance are required.

• Minimum of five years’ Journeyman Electrician experience.
• US State or Territory Journeyman Electrician’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair grounding systems according to codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Plan installations to minimize waste and ensure accessibility for maintenance.
• Follow blueprints and diagrams, and ensure wiring is concealed before finishing walls, ceilings, and floors.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install electrical conduit and wiring using appropriate tools.
• Connect wiring to fixtures and equipment, and install control and distribution devices.
• Test circuits for safety and functionality, and repair faulty systems as needed.
• Supervise employees or subcontractors as directed.
