Job summary

Guernsey Electricity is seeking an Electrical Solutions Estimator to join our small commercial office. You will visit domestic and commercial premises to provide fixed price quotations and time & material estimates, building strong professional relationships with customers, M&E consultants and architects.

You will use SimPRO for quotations and job execution; full training will be provided. You will manage diverse projects, ensure safety compliance, and support market development across GEL’s

Qualifications

• Formal apprenticeship completed with NVQ level 3 in electrical installation works or equivalent.
• Working towards Technician Membership of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (TMIET).
• Significant experience in electrical installation and maintenance; strong knowledge of IET Regulations.
• Hold or working towards NICEIC Qualified Supervisor status.
• Strong communication with customers, suppliers and internal colleagues.
• Commercial awareness and customer focus.
• Hold a valid category 'B' driving licence.
• Basic computer skills; pleasant and friendly outlook.
• Awareness of health & safety management.
• Knowledge of Guernsey Electricity structure, mission and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Quote and plan electrical and heating systems for industrial, commercial and domestic premises.
• Ensure works comply with IET Regulations and health & safety policies.
• Collaborate with GEL Electrical & Plumbing team to identify market opportunities.
• Liaise with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, designers and sub-contractors on design and installation issues.
• Visit customers to advise on works and assist in quotations and evaluations.
• Promote the company and its services and advise on efficient operation of installed systems.
• Undertake out-of-hours emergency call-out duties as required.
• Comply with local health, safety, equal opportunities and data protection laws.
• Perform other duties and interchange of responsibilities as required.
• Demonstrate the core values and behaviours of Guernsey Electricity Limited.
