Job summary

Oregon Steel Mills LLC is seeking an Electrical Signing Supervisor to oversee licensed electricians and apprentices, ensuring compliance with licensing, permits and inspections.

The role also acts as Asset Maintenance Coordinator and electrical SME for state and local agencies.

Qualifications

  • Current Oregon General Supervising Electrician License or Oregon Limited Supervising Electrician License.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years as a Journeyman Electrician in industrial manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Familiarity with NEC and Oregon Rule & Law.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Projects and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure permits/labels are obtained, posted, and signed prior to inspection.
  • Plan, design, and layout electrical installations with plant engineering.
  • Develop maintenance plans for downturns, shutdowns, and CAPEX repairs.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure corrections are completed.
  • Monitor KPIs and maintenance metrics for assigned tasks.
  • Manage inspection plans and preventive maintenance programs.

Job description

Oregon Steel Mills LLC is seeking an Electrical Signing Supervisor to oversee licensed electricians and apprentices, ensuring compliance with licensing, permits and inspections.

This role also serves as Asset Maintenance Coordinator and electrical trade SME for state and local agencies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure that proper permits and/or labels are obtained, posted, and signed prior to inspection.
  • Plan, design, and layout electrical installations—new or modifications—in partnership with plant engineering.
  • Develop plans for maintenance downturns, major plant shutdowns and CAPEX repair projects for assigned assets.
  • Develop maintenance budgets for assigned assets, including CAPEX repair projects.
  • Coordinate all electrical inspections, annual or as required, and ensure corrections issued by the inspecting jurisdiction are completed promptly.
  • Effectively manage and develop inspection plans, monitor and evaluate results, and include predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for assigned tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current Oregon General Supervising Electrician License or Oregon Limited Supervising Electrician License.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NEC and Oregon Rule & Law.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Journeyman Electrical Craftsperson in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to cooperate with others to achieve shared objectives.
  • Proactive approach to influence and balance stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to develop others through coaching and feedback.
  • Understanding of equipment technologies and limitations, and their effect on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
