Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking an Electrical Safety Specialist to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in electrical safety within the ESH Directorate. The role supports NFPA70E, NEC, and DOE 10 CFR 851 compliance, develops and maintains programs, and collaborates with researchers and facilities staff to strengthen safety culture.

The position reports to the Electrical Safety Program Lead and may manage core programs such as QEW or LOTO.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of NFPA70E, NEC, IEEE, OSHA, and DOE 10 CFR 851.
• Experience supporting electrical safety programs in research or industrial settings.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage assigned electrical safety programs and documentation.
• Provide SME guidance on NFPA70E, NEC, NESC, and DOE 10 CFR 851.
• Lead or support AHJ roles and conduct field inspections.
• Track performance metrics and support incident investigations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate electrical safety into operations.
