Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years' experience in electrical product safety testing, compliance engineering, or lab environments.
• Hands-on familiarity with safety standards such as IEC/UL/EN 60601-1, 61010-1, 62368-1, 60335-1; medical device standards experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support safety evaluations and testing for electrical, electronic, and medical electrical equipment per applicable standards.
• Perform routine safety testing including leakage current, dielectric strength, temperature, abnormal operation, mechanical hazards, grounding, flammability, and EMC pre-compliance.
• Review technical documentation for compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.

Product Safety Engineer (Electrical & Medical Devices)

Our client, a leading testing and certification organization, is looking for a Product Safety Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in electrical safety testing who wants broad exposure across consumer, industrial, and medical device product categories - working hands‑on in the lab while building deep standards and certification expertise.

The Role

• Support product safety evaluations and testing activities for electrical, electronic, and medical electrical equipment in accordance with applicable national and international standards
• Perform routine safety testing including leakage current, dielectric strength, temperature, abnormal operation, mechanical hazards, grounding continuity, flammability, and EMC pre‑compliance evaluations
• Assist with product and component assessments against standards such as IEC/UL/EN 60601-1, 60601-1-2, 61010-1, 62368-1, and 60335-1, plus related collateral and particular standards
• Review technical documentation including schematics, risk management files, bills of materials, insulation diagrams, user manuals, and labeling for compliance with regulatory and certification requirements

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred)
• 2–5 years' experience in electrical product safety testing, compliance engineering, or laboratory environments
• Working knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g. 60601-1, 61010-1, 62368-1, 60335-1) — medical device standards experience a plus
• Hands‑on experience with lab instrumentation: oscilloscopes, hipot testers, leakage current analyzers, multimeters, power analyzers, and environmental chambers
