Job summary

L&S Electric in Minneapolis is hiring for a hands-on role focused on refurbishing and repairing rotating electrical apparatus. You will read job cards, disassemble equipment, and perform inspections while using various test equipment to ensure quality.

The team works to meet customer needs and provides ongoing training with more experienced staff. Ideal candidates read, write and speak English fluently, can lift up to heavy loads, and are willing to work overtime at client sites.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Own basic hand tools required for the position.
• Able to wear PPE as needed and work overtime.
• Able to perform fine detail work with hands.
• Able to read job cards and determine job status.
• Experience with rigging and lifting heavy loads.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Work with other employees to complete general project needs.
• Refurbish and repair rotating electrical apparatus.
• Read job cards to determine job status and work to be performed.
• Disassemble incoming electrical apparatus.
• Perform and record incoming visual and electrical inspections.
• Safely operate and understand a variety of test equipment.
• Assist with assembly of electrical apparatus under guidance of senior staff.
• Participate in additional training with higher level employees.
