Job summary

W3Global seeks an Electrical Engineer II - Relay to support substation relaying and metering design, NERC compliance, system protection, and event analysis in Oklahoma. Under moderate supervision, you will develop designs, perform relay settings calculations, assist with commissioning, and coordinate with field personnel on relay projects.

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years in protective relaying are required; PE license is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in protective relaying or power system engineering.
• PE license preferred or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate substation relaying and metering designs, including drawings, specifications, and material lists.
• Perform relay settings calculations, coordination studies, and fault analysis.
• Prepare and review relay settings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment.
• Analyze system disturbances and outages and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and field personnel on relay-related projects.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and applicable industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and technicians.
• Assist with system planning, upgrades, and protection and control capital projects.
