Job summary

nVent is hiring for roles focused on quality inspection and precision measurement. You will perform inspections, identify non-conformances, and initiate NCRs to ensure strict quality control. The position requires experience with precision measuring tools and the ability to interpret ISO procedures.

Weekend shift is Fri-Sun, with a start time of 6:00 am and end at 6:30 pm. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year experience in the quality process.
• 1 year experience with precision metal fabrication measurement tools.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment (e.g., Calipers, micrometer, paint mil gauges, hardness tester, CMM, measuring tables, optical comparators, functional testers, etc.).
• Ability to organize, plan workload and work in a self-directed manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply Quality System / ISO procedures and documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to learn and operate a wide variety of test and measurement equipment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Math and geometry skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive product inspections based on work instructions, checklists, and drawings.
• Prioritize tasks to maintain efficiency and meet department goals.
• Identify non-conforming products that do not meet requirements.
• Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-conformances.
• Ensure no active NCRs before completing an inspection for strict quality control.
• Use precision gauges and devices to determine conformance to acceptance criteria.
