Job summary

nVent is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to provide QA support, lead root cause analysis, and drive improvements in manufacturing quality. You will perform validations, inspections, data analysis, and support cross-functional teams to uphold QMS standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, GD&T knowledge, and experience with precision measurement tools. A high school diploma and 2+ years in quality/manufacturing are expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years in quality/manufacturing field.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification optional.
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T; strong measurement skills.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Ability to interpret orders, quotes, and drawings.
  • Proficient with MS Office and data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide QA support and lead root cause problem solving to improve quality levels.
  • Perform process validations, in-process inspections, and monitoring.
  • Support design, manufacturing, and quality engineering with data collection and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS objectives and train others on QMS standards.
  • Conduct internal ISO standard audits and provide audit support.
  • Prepare formal FAI reports for customers or internal use.
  • Verify dimensional and functional requirements with precision measuring tools.
  • Communicate withOperations, Supply, Manufacturing Eng., Design, Quality, and others as needed.
  • Maintain calibration status of inspection, test, and measurement equipment.

Weekend Shift: Friday - Monday, 6:00 am - 6:30 pm

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Provide quality assurance support and lead root cause problem solving activities that are aligned to improve internal and external quality levels, supporting overall customer satisfaction of our products. Perform process validations, in-process inspections, and monitoring, analyzing the quality of manufacturing processes and products. Provide support to design, manufacturing, and quality engineering functions for data collection, analysis, product review, and process capabilities. Understand, adhere to, and develop processes compliant with the Quality Management Systems (QMS) objectives, as well as train other personnel to adhere to QMS standards. Perform internal ISO standard audits and provide audit support in designated areas. Provide formal documented FAI reports suitable for customer or internal use as required. Determine and use appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional and functional requirements. Effectively communicate with appropriate areas as needed, (Operations, Supply, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Quality, Customer Service, Production Planning, Logistics, etc.). Lead and/or assist in supporting the activities that maintain the calibration status of inspection, test, and measurement equipment.

YOU HAVE:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years working in the quality/manufacturing field.
  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certification as Certified Welding Inspector (optional).
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • GD&T knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of charting and process control methods preferred.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) preferred.
  • Must be able to interpret order requirements, quotes, drawings, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometer, paint mill gauges, etc.).
  • Skilled in identifying root causes of routine problems/issues and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Quality Systems / ISO procedures and documentation.
  • Comfortable using computer systems and software including MS Office Applications.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range: $23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
