Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, a subsidiary of IES Holdings, Inc., seeks a full-time QA/QC Inspector Level 2 to perform spot-check inspections of electrical terminations and verify torque procedures.

The role ensures cable identification, phasing, and documentation meet project standards. Candidates should have Journeyman Electrician status or equivalent electrical construction experience, with strong knowledge of codes, diagrams, and safety.

Qualifications

• Qualified Journeyman Electrician or equivalent electrical construction experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and electrical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform spot-check inspections of electrical terminations completed by craft personnel to verify workmanship and compliance with standards.
• Serve as a dedicated Torque Lead, ensuring proper torque procedures are followed and documented.
• Verify cable identification and cable verification processes are completed accurately.
• Conduct visual inspections to identify vendor installation deficiencies, including busbar issues and loose connections.
• Verify proper electrical phasing, CT orientation, and perform cable tug tests for inspections.
• Review overcurrent protection device sizing and cross-check installations against single-line diagrams.
• Assist with project redlines and as-built documentation, including panel schedules and raceway validation.
• Support the receiving, inspection, and verification of project assets and equipment.
• Assist with panel access, panel cover removal, and restoration activities for inspections.
• Collect, document, and transfer equipment keys to GC or project representative.
• Inspect installations for compliance with project standards, including color coding, lug selection, cable dressing, hardware usage, bushing installation, and labeling.
