Job summary

Clayton Services in Houston is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate electrical equipment and power distribution projects, manage schedules and documentation, and track costs while collaborating with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

You will lead smaller projects with guidance from senior management and support larger ones, develop delivery milestones, and ensure safety and quality procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in project coordination, project support, or project management.
• Experience supporting electrical equipment procurement, order tracking, delivery, installation, or startup activities preferred.
• Previous exposure to electrical distribution equipment, field service, electrical construction, manufacturing, or commissioning is a plus.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical equipment and power distribution projects from planning through delivery and closeout.
• Manage smaller projects independently with guidance from senior management and support larger, more complex projects as needed.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, action lists, and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate equipment orders, vendor documentation, manufacturing updates, shipping, and delivery with suppliers, engineering teams, and customers.
• Track project budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and cost changes while identifying discrepancies for review.
• Organize project meetings, document decisions, and follow up on outstanding action items.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including equipment submittals, drawings, change requests, and closeout records.
• Provide regular project updates to customers and internal teams regarding schedules, deliverables, and potential delays.
• Coordinate site visits, equipment installation, testing, and startup activities with engineering and field personnel.
• Identify and escalation technical issues, scope changes, schedule delays, and customer concerns to senior project management.
• Ensure project activities follow established safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
