Job description

As part of our team, you will oversee multiple crews and implement the installation of large-scale electrical systems. The Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope as well as establishing a professional working team environment. You will manage work sequencing, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure safe and timely completion of all projects.

This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, and our ideal candidate possesses significant prior experience organizing and administering multiple crews on large work sites. You should have ample experience with installation and construction processes, as well as experience with blueprint reading, electrical schematics, wiring, conduit work, and thorough knowledge of workplace safety practices.

This is a salary, exempt position based out of the Elko, NV facility. This position reports directly to the Northwest Operations Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
  • This position requires employees who are committed to safety as our number one priority, dedicated to quality, are hardworking, highly skilled, and of good character
  • Responsible for the overall progress of the project as well as coordination of internal resources and vendors for the execution of projects
  • Proficiency in selling and bidding electrical projects
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner
  • Follow the project timeline and the given budget to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate techniques
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop material take-offs from blueprints
  • Monitor and review group costs, purchases, and budget
  • Prepare and submit estimates and progress and cost tracking reports
  • Fully understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
  • Ability and willingness to communicate with management in a professional manner
  • Supervise and provide technical experience to electrical group workforce
Electrical
  • Proficiency in process control services, drives and drive coordination
  • Proficiency in low and medium switch gear services
  • Proficiency in motor control centers
  • Proficiency in the drawing of electrical diagrams
  • Installation of control panels, rough and finish wiring
  • Install, troubleshoot, repairs, and maintains electrical control circuits for motors and control devices
  • Considerable knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E for electrical installations
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Must be an active listener, recognizing diverse perspectives and be capable of facilitating collaboration
  • Must be dedicated to supporting the team through mentoring, training, and succession planning activities
  • Oversee Superintendents, and General Foremen, working on multiple projects
  • Supervises and provides technical experience to electrical group workforce
  • Responsibility for hiring and assembling electrical team
  • Conduct pre-employment interviews with all applicants for hire, hiring only qualified candidates
  • Lead by example in a professional workmanlike manor, role model for crews, challenge all employees to achieve excellence
  • Other job duties as assigned by management
  • 10-15 years of experience working as a journeyman electrician, and experience in a leadership roll
  • A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
  • Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices
  • Aptitude in math
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA/MSHA guidelines
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • General proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Advanced organizational ability, including managing multiple tasks/deadlines at once
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel
  • Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organize tasks in an efficient manner in order to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated competency in adapting to change
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs
Criteria/Conditions
  • Work is performed in various industrial settings, including; Shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
  • While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
