Job summary

BLS Electrical, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to manage projects from inception to completion. This includes coordinating schedules, budgets, and quality standards while overseeing project documentation and communicating updates to the Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate should have a Journeyman license, experience in managing projects valued at $5MM-$10MM, and strong communication skills. Benefits include medical insurance and accrued paid time off.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Electrical Project Manager will oversee and manage projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages daily activities associated with the project.
  • Monitors and takes full responsibility for project budget.
  • Develops layout drawings, material lists and purchase orders.
  • Coordinates schedule of the project with the General Contractor and other subcontractors.
  • Ensures electrical and instrumentation installation is up to company and customer standards.
  • Is onsite daily overseeing every aspect of the installation.
  • Attends turnover/preplanning project meetings.
  • Develops timelines, material coordination, and labor requirements.
  • Will attend pre‑construction meetings and site walks.
  • Manage all aspects of project documentation including submittals, RFI's, change orders, labor, and material budgets.
  • Communicates progress and updates with Operations Manager regularly.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Superior communication skills written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be very well organized and able to multitask.
  • Must have experience with industrial electrical and instrumentation installations.
  • Safe working procedures and knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • History of strong client relationships and management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/construction drawings accordingly to state/local code requirements.
  • Possibility of managing multiple projects at once.
  • Must be willing to travel 100% of the time in states across the U.S.
  • Experience in processes for RFI’s, change orders, scheduling, manpower loading, material ordering, material management, and submittals.
  • Experience managing industrial projects with values upwards of $5MM-$10MM.
  • Journeyman license in North Carolina or states with reciprocity agreements.
