Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for a Wilson, NC-based, contract-to-hire opportunity overseeing a large-scale industrial electrical construction project with a $30M scope. You will lead preconstruction through closeout, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing electrical construction projects.
  • Strong background with commercial, industrial, or life sciences electrical systems.
  • Experience managing large project budgets and leading project teams on multi-million-dollar scopes.
  • Understanding of electrical means and methods for large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proficiency with construction management and project controls software.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proven communication, leadership, and organizational skills for complex, fast-paced projects.
  • Industrial construction experience, particularly on large-scale projects ($10M scope preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of electrical project execution for a large, multi-million-dollar industrial scope from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Manage the project budget, including cost forecasting, labor production tracking, and change management to maintain financial performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in coordination with field leadership and trade partners.
  • Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field teams to ensure scope alignment, productivity, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Drive project planning activities, including procurement strategies, material release schedules, and logistics coordination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and contract documents across all project activities.
  • Review, track, and manage requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders to maintain project clarity and control.
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents and field leadership to support field execution, resolve issues proactively, and remove obstacles.
  • Provide clear and consistent reporting on project financials, schedule status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including punch list management, turnover documentation, commissioning support, and lessons learned capture.
  • Coordinate complex power distribution, grounding, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems to meet project design and performance requirements.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation and ensure compliance with high safety, quality, and documentation standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilson, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 – $75.00/hr.
