Job summary

R.D. Graham Electric is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to support field operations by coordinating information and timely material ordering to meet the project schedule.

The position reports to the Director of Construction and is based in Wilmington, NC. Responsibilities include coordinating permits, managing material orders, attending meetings, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safety and on-time delivery of project milestones.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
• Experience with permits, inspections and coordinating with inspectors.
• Familiarity with MS Office and proprietary software platforms.
• AAS or BA in Project Management, Business or related field is beneficial.
• Trade-related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate permits and plan reviews to ensure timely processing.
• Order materials accurately to meet project schedules and daily workflow.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Ensure field staff and foremen are aware of equipment needs.
• Record direct charges and track change orders for customers.
• Communicate with field personnel, GC, subs and internal staff.
• Schedule periodic status reviews with field supervision.
• Assist in setting benchmarks toward project completion.
• Maintain project schedule and ensure documentation at closeout.
• Promote open communication and a culture of safety.

We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join our team!

Reports To:

The Project Manager will report to Director of Construction.

Job Overview:

The purpose of this position is to support field operations by ensuring coordination of information and proper, timely material ordering to meet the project schedule.

Responsibilities and Duties which are expected to be performed include but are not limited to:

• Ensure all permits and plan reviews are coordinated in a timely manner
• Ensure appropriate quantity and type of material are ordered to meet the project schedule and daily workflow
• Attend project meetings as required
• Coordinate subcontractors; Fire Alarm vendors, public and private utility locators, underground boring are examples of subs that must be coordinated and scheduled
• Ensure field supervisor and job foreman are aware of any specialized equipment needs
• Ensure all direct charges are recorded to the job
• Ensure all change orders are tracked, recorded and provided to the customer in a timely manner
• Correspond and communicate with field personnel, GC, subcontractors and internal staff to ensure the job needs are met
• Coordinate periodic meetings with field supervisor / job foreman to review project status
• Assist field supervisor with setting benchmark objectives towards completion of job
• Ensure project benchmarks are achieved, and job schedule is maintained
• Coordinate distribution of appropriate documentation at time of job close out
• Encourage an environment of open communications and a culture of safety

Qualifications:

• This position should have experience working in a fast-paced office setting in which coordinating multiple tasks and functions, often at the same time, is common practice.
• Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors and establishing permits are all areas which will benefit from experience.
• Should have a background using the Microsoft Office suite as well as navigating proprietary software programs.
• While formal education is not a requirement for this position, an AAS or BA in Project Management, Business, Management or a related field would prove to be beneficial.
• Trade related certifications are also beneficial in completing job responsibilities.

This position should be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift items not to exceed 50 pounds. This position should also be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demands.
