Job summary

R.D. Graham Electric is seeking an Electrical Foreman for full-time on-site work in the Charlotte, NC area. You will lead on-site installation, supervise field crews, and coordinate staffing to meet daily objectives.

The role requires interpreting drawings, ordering materials, enforcing safety protocols, and driving project benchmarks to successful completion. Collaboration with PMs and field supervision is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
• Experience coordinating multiple field tasks while supervising personnel.
• Experience with trade inspections and dealing with jurisdictions and inspectors.
• Trade certifications are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staffing levels are requested for daily tasks.
• Deploy personnel to fit the workflow and priorities.
• Ensure special equipment needs are requested.
• Interpret job drawings to facilitate electrical installation.
• Establish material lists and ensure adequate stock on site.
• Set weekly benchmarks and monitor progress toward completion.
• Maintain project schedules and communicate status to PM.
• Support safety initiatives and promote a safety-focused culture.
• Attend project meetings and relay information to PM and supervisor.
• Maintain familiarity with plans, schedule and job expectations.

Reports To:

The Electrical Foreman will report to the Superintendent

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure appropriate staffing levels are requested for the daily required tasks to be completed
• Deploy personnel as necessary and in the best interest of the existing workflow daily
• Ensure special equipment needs are requested
• Interpret job drawings to facilitate install of electrical system
• Establish material list and ensure adequate material is ordered and onsite to accommodate daily workflow
• Establish weekly benchmark objectives towards completion of job
• Ensure project benchmarks are achieved and job schedule is maintained
• May attend project meetings and communicate information to PM and field supervisor
• Maintain familiarity with the plans, schedule and expectations for job
• Aid and oversight of safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel
• This position will be expected to promote an emphasis on creating a team oriented, positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication
• Communicate job progress and job needs to PM
• Maintain oversight of job status and communicate anticipated problems
• Ensure inspections status; scheduled and completed

Qualifications

• An applicant for the Electrical Foreman position should have experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
• Experience working in the field coordinating multiple tasks and functions, while providing supervision of assigned personnel is common practice.
• Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors are all areas which will benefit from experience.
• Associated trade certifications are beneficial but are not required for this position.

This applicant should be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift items not to exceed 50 pounds. This position should also be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demands.
