Electrical Engineer Job Description

The ideal candidate will:

1. Obtain a working knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical engineering and building design.
2. Be proficient in Revit/BIM/VDC and current Autodesk programs, with familiarity in LEED and energy-efficient design.
3. Collaborate effectively with AutoCAD technicians and designers for plan preparation and modification.
4. Possess knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, approval processes, and site-specific research.
5. Have experience managing teams, schedules, budgets, and multiple large-scale projects.
6. Perform electrical engineering work in areas such as HVAC systems, electrical service, service equipment, and low voltage systems.
7. Use judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques and procedures.
8. Conceptualize initial electrical design approaches and oversee electrical engineering work on projects.
9. Oversee project design and progress, coordinating with city, state, county officials, and outside agencies.
10. Resolve issues like conflicting design requirements and coordination challenges.
11. Act as a liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
12. Evaluate plans, prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
13. Participate in contract bidding and administration, and observe project work onsite.
14. Coach and mentor less experienced engineers and technical personnel.
15. Conduct quality control/quality assurance reviews of team deliverables, with the authority to sign and seal electrical documents.

• Review and prepare technical documentation and estimates.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering; PE license required.

Experience: 15+ years in Electrical Engineering, with preference for private commercial, multifamily, and high-rise smoke control projects.

Benefits

Starting salary between $95,000 and $115,000, with comprehensive benefits, bonuses, and profit sharing.
