Responsibilities

  • Client facing and will manage the scope, budget, and schedule of projects, including change management.
  • Provide third party engineering oversight and engineering management for the multi-disciplined team.
  • Develop and/or system integration of control, electrical, mechanical, structural and process designs.
  • Own the technical design of the project and be the engineer of record or engineering lead for a discipline.
  • Develop the engineering project team vision and align with operational goals.
  • Mentor and develop team members providing technical guidance.
  • Identify KPIs and KPI tracking/reporting.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices.

Job description

We are currently looking to hire an Electrical Project Manager for our client based in Kansas City, the role is a mixture of onsite and working from home. Our client is a global power solutions provider with global operational experience and is currently experiencing a significant period of commercial and technological growth. With this growth in mind, they are currently looking to build out an internal EPC function to reduce the reliance on 3rd party engineering services. This role will report into the VP for the operation and have full technical and client facing responsibilities for multiple turnkey power generation project.

You will manage and own the scope, budget and schedule of multiple projects at any given time, including leading multi-discipline teams of engineers. This is a great role for someone who has limited management experience and are looking to take the next step in their career, below are a list of some of the responsibilities that you’ll be required to complete.

Electrical Project Manager's Responsibilities:
  • Client facing and will manage to the scope, budget, and schedule of projects you are assigned to, inclusive of executing change management.
  • Provide third party engineering oversight and engineering management for the multi-disciplined engineering team.
  • Responsible for the development and/or system integration of control, electrical, mechanical, structural and process designs.
  • Own the technical design of the project and be the engineer of record or engineering lead for a specific discipline.
  • Develop the engineering project team vision, identify priorities, and align with operational goals.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members including technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
  • Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and a means to manage KPI tracking and reporting.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and finds practical applications.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with around 6 years of work-related experience. Two or more years of engineering project management or lead level discipline engineer experience in an EPC environment is also required.
