Job description

We are partnering with an established, family-owned commercial General Contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to help lead and expand its electrical division.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial-minded electrical construction professional who wants more than a traditional project management role. The selected candidate will play a key role in growing an existing electrical division, building out a team, developing client relationships, and overseeing electrical projects from estimating through completion.

The company specializes in commercial construction across education, healthcare, and office environments, with electrical projects ranging from approximately $1K to $1M.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial electrical projects simultaneously, overseeing estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution.
  • Lead and support the growth of the electrical division, including recruiting, developing, and managing field personnel.
  • Prepare independent electrical estimates, takeoffs, proposals, and competitive bids utilizing Accubid or similar estimating software.
  • Oversee electrical scopes associated with commercial interior renovations, tenant improvements, JOC projects, and service contracts.
  • Manage electrical installations involving branch circuits, lighting systems, receptacles, wiring modifications, and related commercial electrical infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to expand the company's electrical business.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, quality standards, and jobsite safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial electrical construction experience, preferably with project management and estimating responsibilities.
  • Strong background in commercial electrical work, particularly interior renovations, service work, and/or JOC projects.
  • Electrical estimating experience is essential, with proficiency in Accubid strongly preferred.
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects, managing budgets, and coordinating field teams.
  • Ability and willingness to help grow an electrical division, establish processes, and build a successful team.
  • Experience working for either an electrical subcontractor or a commercial general contractor with an electrical division.
  • Existing relationships within the Dallas-Fort Worth commercial construction market strongly preferred.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (current or previously held) preferred.
  • Experience with K-12, higher education, healthcare, or commercial office projects is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
  • Base Salary: $90,000–$120,000+, depending on experience
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off starting at approximately 2+ weeks, increasing with tenure
  • Long-term career growth and leadership opportunities
  • Opportunity to help shape, expand, and lead an electrical division within an established commercial GC
Why Consider This Opportunity?

Unlike a traditional Electrical Project Manager position, this role offers the chance to take ownership of a growing division within a well-established commercial construction company.

You'll have the opportunity to build your own team, strengthen existing client relationships, bring in new business, and directly influence the growth and direction of the electrical division.

This position is especially well suited for an experienced Electrical Project Manager, Senior Electrical Project Manager, or Electrical Operations professional looking to step into a broader leadership role.
