Qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Electrical for a direct hire opportunity with an established electrical construction and engineering contractor in Kansas City, MO. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a proven electrical construction project leader who can manage complex projects from planning and mobilization through commissioning and closeout. This opportunity offers direct ownership of high-visibility regional infrastructure, energy, industrial, and commercial electrical construction projects. The work environment emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration, safety, accountability, and professional growth. You will work with experienced internal teams, trade partners, design professionals, and clients while helping mentor team members and drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical construction projects from initiation through commissioning, closeout, and end-user training.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, implementation plans, logistics strategies, and demobilization plans.
• Coordinate with clients, A/E design teams, subcontractors, vendors, trade partners, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, inspections, and documentation for quality and code compliance.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor negotiations, material expediting, billing schedules, budget tracking, and resource planning.
• Enforce daily jobsite safety protocols and develop Activity Hazard Analysis, Risk Management, and Safety Plans.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Manage electrical construction projects across commercial, industrial, institutional, infrastructure, energy, or federal environments.
• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and field execution.
• Oversee electrical technical documentation, NEC compliance, quality control, safety planning, commissioning, and closeout.
• Serve as the primary project contact for clients, design teams, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, field training, and relevant experience.
• 6 to 10 years of relevant project management experience in electrical construction.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.
• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code standards, municipal inspection procedures, quality control standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Proven experience with construction budgets, resource forecasting, subcontract negotiation, procurement, material tracking, expediting, and jobsite logistics.
• Proficiency with standard project management software and office productivity applications.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to mentor team members, delegate effectively, conduct performance evaluations, and support a collaborative workplace culture.
• Reliable commute to Kansas City, MO 64109 or relocation prior to start date.
• Willingness to travel to out-of-town project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 or more years of progressive electrical construction and project management experience.
• Experience independently managing high-scope electrical construction projects.
• Proficiency with Procore, Accubid, BHS, and Microsoft Project.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
