ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical Project Manager position is a dynamic opportunity that drives project planning, administration, purchasing, engineering, marketing, and installation processes for small to medium-sized electrical construction projects including Commercial, Healthcare, Data Center, and Light & Heavy Industrial work in Wisconsin and the Greater Twin Cities area. Your responsibilities include cultivating and nurturing customer relationships, directing and supervising project teams to uphold contractual commitments and compliance, and managing projects with an eye for economic efficiency while maintaining a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.   1. Maintain existing and develop new customer relationships to secure future business.
  2. Direct and supervise service technicians, general foremen, foremen, and their crews in a manner that complies with the contracts executed by Hunt Electric Corporation, union agreements, and all policies and procedures.
  3. Manage assigned projects as economically as possible while recognizing commitment to customer satisfaction, quality workmanship, and a positive industry image.
  4. Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and billing necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract.
  5. Direct the planning of the project through purchasing, engineering, subletting, and installation.
  6. Work with a team during the bidding process when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a project manager in the electrical industry.
  • Ability to understand design/build requirements as well as the scope of the contract documents issued for the electrical work to be performed.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and the coordination of manpower and resources.
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train, delegate, and coordinate work of Assistant Project Managers, Estimators, and other team members.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position operates at an industrial job site and is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise, possibly requiring closed-toed shoes, as well as occasional use of a hard hat and eye protection.
  • This position also operates in a professional construction office environment. This role routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines.
  • Employees are frequently required to sit and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
