Job summary

DWS Energy in Dallas, TX, seeks an Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical control projects from concept to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality.

You will lead cross-functional teams, review contracts and drawings, manage scopes, schedules, and costs, and drive change orders while ensuring OSHA compliance; a valid driver's license and OSHA 30 are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years in Project Management.
  • 3+ years in the controls industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC control systems and ability to read control drawings and schematics.
  • Know ledge of contract law, codes, standards, and industry construction practices.

POSITION: Electrical Project Manager
DWS ENERGY

Founded in 2014, DWS Energy is a rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary electrical construction company focused on commercial and utility-scale solar and battery storage (new construction and operations & maintenance), building controls wiring, and electrical pre-fabrication solutions in our UL-508A certified panel shop. The organization has expanded its service offerings throughout its tenure and continues to grow at an accelerated rate.

OVERVIEW:

The Project Manager – Electrical role is responsible for overseeing and managing electrical control projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

DUTIES:

The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage electrical control projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Prepares project billing, revenue forecasts, and schedules of values
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure project success.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Review contracts, project scope, drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documents to understand company obligations and deliverables.
  • Drive change orders, including identifying scope changes, preparing pricing, submitting proposals, tracking approvals, and ensuring approved changes are properly incorporated.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project punch list, commissioning, turnover, and closeout requirements with project team.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The following are required skills and qualifications:

  • Construction industry experience is preferred.
  • This position is typically held by an individual that has at least 2+ years in Project Management Role and 3+ years in the controls industry.
  • This individual should have an advanced understanding of HVAC control systems and have the ability to analyze control system drawings and schematics as well as knowledge of contract law, codes, standards, and industry construction knowledge. PLCs, HMI, and SCADA are a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and industry best practices for construction and electrical projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • OSHA 30 required. (Must be completed within 6 months)
REQUIREMENTS:

The following are physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to do prolonged periods of sitting at desks, stooping, kneeling, bending
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather on job sites.
