Job summary

System One in Frederick, MD is seeking a Project Engineer to support electrical construction projects onsite, coordinating technical and administrative project activities to meet standards and design instructions.

You will work with the project team to prepare specifications, assist with estimating and change orders, and participate in project reviews and closeout while pursuing growth toward Project Lead responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of project engineering or similar experience, open to 2+ in electrical construction.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred; other technical degrees considered.
• Interest in progressing toward Project Lead/Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to ensure standards compliance.
• Troubleshoot field issues; recommend practical solutions.
• Support closeout activities, including punch list planning and execution.
• Prepare specifications and documentation for purchasing materials.
• Assist with estimating and change order management.
• Coordinate design, commissioning, and procurement activities.
• Generate invoices and support O&M manual compilation.
• Participate in Key Project Reviews and maintain logs and schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve productivity.
