Bala Consulting Engineers in New York City is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems. The role entails on-site surveys, design calculations, and coordination across disciplines in a multi-discipline engineering firm.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years in electrical power distribution, lighting, and code compliance, with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and PE/EIT and LEED preferences.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
• Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash coordination, interior/exterior lighting design and photometric calculations.
• Background in commercial and healthcare facilities preferred.

• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $130,000.00 Annually

The basic requirements for this position include:

• 7 to 10 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
• Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
• Background in commercial and healthcare facilities strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.
• PE or EIT certification preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.
