Job summary

Merit Electrical Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager on electrical construction projects.

You will help with startup, issue resolution, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of multiple projects, ensuring BoMs, purchase orders, submittals and RFIs are organized and communicated to foremen. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Alternatively, completion of an accredited electrical trade school program with a minimum of three years of commercial electrical field experience.

Responsibilities

Follow Project Management processes and procedures
Understand contract requirements and project scope
Provide technical information for permitting
Update budget reports
Create schedule outline from budget with input from Project Manager and Superintendent
Assist with layout prep, coordination drawings, and basic CAD/Revit understanding
Create procurement schedule with PM and Superintendent
Review and verify Bills of Materials; coordinate with vendors
Create submittal log and schedule content
Identify commodity BoMs and obtain final quotes
Create and review submittal data
Release equipment based on schedule
Review invoices and assign job cost codes
Draft RFIs and RFCOs based on field/PM input
Implement change orders, cost coding, and verify purchases
Prolonged sitting while working at a computer
