Wiley|Wilson is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer in Raleigh, NC with 6–10 years of experience. You will lead multi-discipline projects for federal, state, and private clients, ensure code compliance, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (ABET accredited).
• Registered Professional Engineer in NC or able to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems ensuring compliance with industry and client standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering disciplines, project managers, and contractors.
• Lead project teams delivering engineering design packages for federal, state, local agencies, commercial and industrial clients, and universities.
• Provide engineering oversight and training to junior engineers and designers.
• Support construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality and clear communication with teams and clients.
• Work with electrical teams to improve internal standards and perform load flow, short circuit, and voltage drop analyses.

The engineer selected for this position will, among other things:

• Utilize experience and technical skills to solve complex problems, ensuring compliance with industry and client standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, all engineering disciplines, project managers, and contractors.
• Lead project teams, delivering comprehensive engineering design packages to diverse clients such as federal, state, and local agencies; commercial and industrial entities; and universities.
• Provide engineering oversight and direction to junior engineers and designers, including leadership and training.
• Support construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality and accuracy of work and effectively communicating with project manager, design and construction teams, and clients.
• Work with the electrical team across offices to enhance internal standards, conduct load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations for optimal system configurations.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architectural/electrical engineering, or electrical engineering technology from an ABET accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer in NC or ability to obtain through reciprocity within three months of start date.
• Experience in building system design including power distribution, lighting and control systems, grounding and lightning protection, and emergency and uninterruptible power systems.
• Familiarity with system modeling software (i.e., ETAP, SKM, AGI) and knowledge of sustainable design practices.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and to obtain a security clearance.

Desirable:

• Prior consulting experience
• Federal government design experience
• LEED accreditation is a plus
• LC certification is a plus
• Functional knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is a plus
