Job summary

Wiley|Wilson, an employee-owned AE firm, is seeking a Professional Engineer to lead medium voltage system design in Atlanta, GA. This hybrid role offers ESOP ownership, competitive salary, and strong benefits.

You will oversee MV design from concept to completion, perform feasibility and analyses, specify equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, sustainable power distribution solutions for government, institutional, and private clients.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.E. in electrical engineering required.
• 6–10 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer in GA or reciprocity within 3 months.
• Field knowledge of medium/low voltage distribution systems.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD; familiar with ETAP/SKM; sustainability design.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute medium voltage system design projects from inception to completion.
• Perform feasibility studies, load flow analyses, short circuit analyses, and voltage drop calculations to optimize configurations.
• Develop comprehensive engineering designs, including equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, and protective devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate MV systems into larger projects.

The engineer selected for this position will:

• Lead and execute medium voltage system design projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load flow analyses, short circuit analyses, and voltage drop calculations to determine optimal system configurations.
• Develop comprehensive engineering designs, including the selection and specification of equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, and protective devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical designers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure the seamless integration of medium voltage systems into larger projects.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer in GA or able to obtain reciprocity within three months of the start date.
• Field knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with familiarity in system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM), and knowledge of sustainable design practices.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain a security clearance.

Desirable:

• Prior consulting experience, especially in federal government design projects, is preferred.
• Experience in building system design is a plus.
