Job summary

A growing firm based in Chicago seeks a skilled Electrical Project Engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of electrical systems for roadway, traffic signals, and pump stations. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in the field and be able to build client relationships while mentoring junior staff. This role is pivotal to coordinating multi-discipline projects and ensuring project success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
• PE License or ability to obtain in two years.
• Experience with DOT projects and CDOT/INDOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design pump station electrical systems and site electrical improvements.
• Supervise and mentor staff on larger projects.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Responsibilities:

• Projects include the study/design of roadway and site lighting, traffic signals for State/municipal clients and ITS improvements for public agencies
  
• Design pump station electrical systems, generator sizing and site electrical improvements
  
• Prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates and preliminary studies
  
• Supervise/mentor other staff on larger projects
  
• Coordinate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  
• Review and check engineering work completed by staff
  
• Build/maintain client relationships
  
• Mentor/train junior staff
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
  
• 7+ years of experience
  
• PE License or ability to obtain in two years
  
• Proficient in MicroStation
  
• Experience with DOT projects
  
• CDOT/INDOT experience
  

Salary is commensurate with experience.
