Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

We are seeking a degreed Electrical Engineer with a desire to work within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment within a growing organization. The role involves collaborating with senior engineering staff from initial conceptual electrical design through construction and commissioning of various facilities projects. The Electrical Engineer will work with a diverse team to resolve complex problems, such as conflicting design requirements, material limitations, and coordination challenges, benefiting from a solid quality control process. The ideal candidate is motivated to excel in consulting engineering and embraces challenges as opportunities for growth.

Typical assignments include facilities engineering and design projects across educational, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, healthcare, and aviation sectors. Candidates should have experience with building electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, emergency power, fire alarms, security, CCTV, access control, and communication systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform design computations
  • Design projects per client specifications using design software and drawing tools
  • Develop construction cost estimates
  • Prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Attend client meetings
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Successfully pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in electrical power distribution, generation, motor controls, lighting, fire alarm design, telecommunications, or security systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Autodesk CADD/Revit
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes for electrical design
Preferred Experience
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Bentley Microstation, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, AGi32, or ElumTools
  • Experience with federal, state, and local agencies and codes
Working Conditions
  • Mostly office-based work with occasional fieldwork in various weather conditions; some lifting required
  • Regional travel within 90 miles for site visits and project activities
Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • 5-10 years’ relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Autodesk tools
  • Knowledge of electrical codes
