Are you an Electrical Engineer working within an engineering consultancy or EPC firm who would like to transition to the owner/developer side of the energy industry?
We're partnering with a leading renewable energy developer that is expanding its electrical engineering team to support a growing portfolio of large scale energy infrastructure projects across the United States.
This is an opportunity to work across a diverse mix of technologies, including solar, onshore wind, battery energy storage, natural gas generation, and major electrical infrastructure 'supporting data center developments with loads exceeding 100 MW.
Unlike traditional consulting roles, you'll have the opportunity to be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from early stage development and engineering design through construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.
We're particularly interested in well rounded Electrical Engineers with experience across multiple areas of power engineering, rather than specialists focused exclusively on one discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across utility-scale renewable energy, power generation, and data center infrastructure projects.
- Support projects from initial feasibility and concept development through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Develop and review electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, electrical system layouts, equipment specifications, and design documentation.
- Oversee the integration of substations, transmission connections, collection systems, BESS, and generation facilities.
- Manage external engineering consultants, EPC contractors, and technical specialists to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with utilities, grid operators, equipment manufacturers, and internal project development teams.
- Review electrical power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, grounding, arc flash, and grid stability.
- Provide technical support for utility interconnection, grid compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, equipment selection, technical evaluations, and procurement activities.
- Support construction teams with engineering queries, commissioning activities, testing, and energization.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards, technical procedures, and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within the power, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: substations, transmission, power systems, protection and controls, renewable generation, BESS, or industrial power infrastructure.
- A broad understanding of electrical engineering principles, with the ability to work across multiple technical disciplines.
- Experience coordinating engineering deliverables and working with external consultants, EPC contractors, or project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with electrical design, major equipment specifications, and power system studies.
- Understanding of utility interconnection processes, grid requirements, and relevant industry standards.
- Experience supporting engineering projects through multiple stages of development and delivery.
- Strong communication, technical coordination, and problem-solving skills.
