Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Test Technician II to join our Electrical Power Services team. This role performs inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning on electrical power distribution equipment in commercial, industrial, utility, and mission-critical environments.

The position supports project execution and safety compliance. Candidates should have intermediate-level testing capabilities with 2–5 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2–5 years in electrical testing, field service, commissioning, or related power systems work.
Knowledge of electrical theory, AC/DC systems, and power distribution equipment.
Ability to read one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Experience using electrical test instruments and diagnostic equipment.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic reporting systems.

Responsibilities

Perform acceptance, maintenance, and troubleshooting testing on electrical power distribution equipment.
Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and document work on switchgear, breakers, relays, transformers, MCCs, ATS, cables, batteries, grounding, and metering equipment.
Set up, operate, and maintain electrical test equipment safely and accurately.
Analyze test results and identify abnormal conditions requiring corrective action.
Prepare field reports, test documentation, and equipment records with accuracy and attention to detail.
Communicate findings and project status to supervisors, managers, and customers.
