Job summary

Actalent in Livingston, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems for industrial and data-center applications.

You will create and review single-line diagrams, schematics, and detailed panel layouts, perform electrical calculations, and develop BOMs and equipment specifications.

The role emphasizes NEC, IEEE, NEMA, UL, ANSI compliance and collaboration with the engineering team to support fabrication, installation and commissioning onsite.

Qualifications

• Experience designing low- and medium-voltage power distribution for industrial and data-center projects.
• Ability to create and review single-line diagrams for power distribution architectures.
• Develop and review schematic/wiring diagrams for installation and maintenance.
• Develop detailed panel layouts and equipment specifications.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and ensure component compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop LV/MV power distribution systems for industrial and commercial applications, including data centers.
• Create and review single-line diagrams to define topology and architecture.
• Prepare and review schematics and wiring diagrams for accurate interconnections.
• Develop detailed panel layouts including component arrangement and accessibility.
• Generate BOMs and equipment specifications meeting project and code requirements.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, and voltage drop calculations to validate performance.
• Conduct arc flash studies and protective device coordination for safety.
• Support integration of switchgear, transformers, generators into power distribution solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NEMA, UL, ANSI standards and customer requirements.
