Job summary

Alldus is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and documentation of medium and low voltage power systems for industrial applications in Houston. The role includes on-site commissioning and troubleshooting under the Design team lead, with focus on safety and reliability.

The candidate will generate electrical studies and documentation using ETAP and coordinate with other departments, delivering area classifications, single line diagrams, and BOMs.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with medium voltage power generation system design, including distribution line design.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, and similar standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and documentation of medium and low voltage power systems.
• Perform electrical studies such as short circuit, arc flash, coordination, load flow, and harmonics.
• Prepare drawings, area classifications, and single line diagrams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for electrical systems.

Job description

We're hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and documentation of these systems, with some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting involved. This role reports to the Design team lead.

What you'll do:

• Design and review medium and low voltage power generation, distribution, and microgrid systems
• Produce electrical studies and documentation, including short circuit, arc flash and coordination, power system, grounding, load flow, harmonics, fault, and transient studies using tools such as ETAP
• Prepare supporting documentation such as area classifications, drawings, reports, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and electrical bills of material
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for electrical systems
• Provide engineering support to other departments as needed
• Support on-site commissioning and troubleshooting activities

What you bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-10+ years of relevant experience
• At least 2 years of experience with medium voltage power generation system design, including distribution line design
• Solid working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, and similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A mindset geared toward learning and adapting to new technologies and industry practices

Nice to have:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Design experience within an EPC environment
• Experience installing, operating, or troubleshooting industrial automation equipment
• Experience with power generation controls and automation
• Experience developing relay logic, electrical protection, and coordination schemes
• Experience running electrical studies in ETAP or comparable software
